Celtic Shambles

The Band

Above all Celtic Shambles are fun and great visual entertainment.

They were formed when they all found themselves joining in at someone’s fiftieth birthday party in 2004! They decided to learn and rehearse some tunes together and played their first gig at Christmas 2004. Since then things have rapidly developed….

They line up generally as fiddle, guitar, banjo and drums, However they double up other instruments which include whistle, 12 string guitar, bouzouki, tenor banjo, bass, and of course bodhran. That’s the standard instruments the centre pic shows Kev playing the “lagerfone” and Amy playing fiddle whilst the bottom pic shows Kev playing fiddle and Amy playing whistle.

Their music style is basically Celtic Irish but perhaps being not quite as formal, great pub music! Jigs and reels give great dancing opportunities. Kev is a talented lyricist so they have many of their own songs too.

A unique feature of Celtic Shambles is the “Laser Display System” – wallpaper usually containing chorus parts to encourage people to join in!
